Privacy policy
1. Who we are
Put Me Through is run by b4igo.ai Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 14834821, registered office 23 Queens Road, Tunbridge Wells TN4 9LZ. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Our registration with the Information Commissioner's Office is ZB726630.
For anything about your data, email privacy@putmethrough.com. We reply within one month.
We serve businesses in the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States and Canada. Wherever you or your business are, we hold ourselves to the UK GDPR and to everything in this policy: one set of rules for everyone, the strictest of the countries we serve.
2. What this service does
You give us the web address of a business. We read its public website, ask several AI assistants what they say about businesses of that kind in that town, and show you a score with the assistants' own answers. It tells a business owner how well AI assistants can find and read their business today.
3. What we collect and why
The web address you enter, and the pages we fetch from it. We read the home page and a few linked pages (contact, about, services, prices, booking, FAQ), at most 30 pages, in one visit. We keep copies of those pages for 30 days so the check can be reviewed, then delete them.
Facts we take from those pages. The business name, what kind of business it is, the town, postcode, phone number, business email address, services, prices mentioned, opening hours, and how a customer can book. Before any page text is sent to an AI provider, we remove people's names and personal email addresses from it. We keep the facts with the check.
What AI assistants say. We send short questions to AI assistant providers, such as "who are the best plumbers in [town]?" and "tell me about [business] in [town]". Their answers may name other businesses. We keep the answers for 12 months so a score can be re-checked, then reduce them to the score and the list of businesses named.
Google Business Profile details for the business. The listing's name, address, phone, website, opening hours, rating and number of ratings, kept for 30 days.
Your email address, if you give it. Only to send you the full report you asked for. We store the exact consent text you saw and the time you gave it. We keep the address until you unsubscribe, or after 24 months without any activity.
Your email address, if you create an account. To sign you in by a link we email you, to link the checks you run to your account so you can see them again, and later to tell you about your own checks. We keep it while you use the account and for 24 months after you last signed in, then delete it. The check itself stays as business data.
Your details, if you ask us to call you back. Your name, email address, business website, phone number if you give it, how you would like to be contacted, and anything you write in the message. We use them only to reply to you. We keep them for 12 months, then delete them.
Technical data. A hashed form of your IP address (a pseudonym, not anonymised), used only to limit how many checks one address can run in an hour, and server logs of requests, kept for 90 days. We do not use analytics cookies; see section 8.
4. Why we are allowed to
Reading a business's public website, and asking AI assistants about it, is processing of publicly available business information. We rely on our legitimate interests: showing a business owner how AI assistants see their business, and building a picture of how well small businesses in the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States and Canada are served by AI assistants. We have weighed this against the interests of the people involved (section 3 explains what we remove and how long we keep things), and you can object at any time by emailing us.
Your email address, and any future test contact with a business, are processed only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
If you ask us to call you back, we process the details you give us because you asked us to get in touch (steps taken at your request before any contract).
Keeping the service secure, including the rate limit on checks, is also a legitimate interest.
5. Who we share data with
We never sell your data or share it for anyone else's purposes. To run the check we send short questions about your business (its name, type and town) to AI assistant providers, some of them outside the UK, and we use hosting and infrastructure providers to store and deliver the service. They act on our instructions under contract.
In more detail:
- AI assistant providers receive the questions above, and site text with people's names and personal email addresses removed. Some are in the United States. Where a provider is certified under the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework we rely on that; otherwise on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses in that provider's terms.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers run our database, our website and our email forwarding. Our database is in the United Kingdom. A business in Australia, the United States or Canada is read and stored the same way: its data starts where the business is, is held in the United Kingdom, and goes to the same providers under the same terms.
- A business listings provider supplies the Google Business Profile details in section 3.
We do not share your email address with anyone.
6. How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Copies of the pages we read | 30 days |
| Facts taken from a business's site | until the business asks us to remove them |
| AI assistants' answers | 12 months, then reduced to the score and the businesses named |
| Business listing details | 30 days |
| Your email address | until you unsubscribe, or 24 months without activity |
| Your details, if you ask us to call you back | 12 months |
| Your checks | while your account exists; deleted at once when you delete a check or close your account |
| A one-way fingerprint of your email address, after you close your account or delete a check | 24 months from the closure, then deleted. The address cannot be recovered from it. It is kept so the checks an address used are not given back when it registers again |
| A record that a website has had its free check | retired. It is no longer written |
| Server logs and hashed IP addresses | 90 days |
An account holder's checks are kept while the account exists. Deleting a check or closing the account removes them at once. After a closure we keep a one-way fingerprint of the address for 24 months, from which the address cannot be recovered, so the checks an address used are not given back when it registers again.
A business that is not our customer can ask us to remove everything we hold about it, taken from its website, by emailing privacy@putmethrough.com. We remove it within 30 days.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, and wherever you are, you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, object to our processing of it, or ask us to restrict it. Email privacy@putmethrough.com and we answer within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
You can delete any of your checks, and you can close your account, from your account page. Deleting a check removes that check, its answers, its report and its PDFs, and it cannot be undone. A check that is deleted is not given back. Closing your account removes the account, every check it ran and everything else we hold about you. What a closure keeps is the one-way fingerprint of the address for 24 months, so the checks an address used are not given back when it registers again.
If you run a business whose website we have read, the same address is how you ask us to stop reading it, remove it from our checks, or erase what we hold. Our automated visitor is described at putmethrough.com/bot, including how to block it.
8. Cookies
The score page sets no cookie. If you sign in to an account we set one cookie that keeps you signed in for 30 days or until you sign out; it is strictly necessary for that and holds nothing else. There is no analytics, advertising or tracking cookie, so there is no cookie banner.
9. About the AI-generated content
The answers shown on a score page were generated by AI assistants in response to our questions, on the date shown, using the models named. They are a sample, not a ranking. The same assistant may answer differently on another day or in its consumer app. Where an answer names a business, we quote the assistant's own words and make no judgement about that business. A business that wants a quoted answer about it corrected or removed can email us.
10. Changes to this policy
We will change this policy as the service changes, and show the version and date at the top. Version 0.6, 3 Nov 2026.
